On Your Special Day

Good Morning Guys,

Up early this morning trying to catch up on things.

Quick thank you for all your support and hello to my new followers; twitter, Facebook and on my blog you are all welcome and thank you for supporting me. Also a quick thank you for all who have taken the time to view my first video, and thanks for the comments as well.

Right on to today's card!

So today's card is an 8x8 card blank matted with four layers of white and pink card, the top white layer is embossed with a circle embossing folder, the last pink layer is done with a swirl embossing folder, this layer I used the De-Embossed side!

I stamped the sentiment "On Your Special Day" onto a pink card stock that was cut out using my Spellbinders die. I created a flag to go underneath the sentiment.

To finish the card of I added "blooms" that I picked up from Lili of the Valley - I think they are Wild Orchard Crafts - I added pink Liquid pearl to the edge of the sentiment and in the middle of each circle.

I added six pearl pieces, three at the top and three at the bottom.

So that is my card for today, I hope you like it.

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Fan- Tastic Tuesday - Must Be Square - #50 Anything Goes -  02/09
Through The Craft Room Door - Anything Goes - 02/09

Here Comes Santa

Good Morning Everyone,

How are we all today? Hope you are all enjoying your bank holiday weekend.

Today I thought I would share with you a Christmas Gift Bag, I created with two stamps from the Yuletide range.

So I started with a plain brown gift bag, I matted it with white card stock and then red polka dot paper, on to this I matted a further white layer that was matted with a wordy Christmas paper. I added a white border and a green strip across the center of the bag, the ribbon  was added and attached to it, with a further piece of ribbon tucked in and pulled to create the Knot. I stamped my Santa onto 300gsm card stock I used a black ink pad for this and left him black and white, I added fake stitching around the Santa and added him to a red square. I repeated the same steps with the sentiment stamp.

To finish the bag I added two pieces of green ribbon to each side of the handle, three green card candi pieces and three red card candi pieces.

I think it come out great and would love to read your thoughts on it, don't forget to  leave a comment also for anyone on Facebook Bee Crafty have a page which is updated with all the latest news and a group for you to share your projects with us.

First Video - Pretty Style Smash Book

Hi Guys,

How are you all?

Well I have talked about this for months now that I wanted to start making videos, and I decided to take the plunge and just do it.

I did a Smashbook for my family holiday back in May, and whilst looking for ideas I noticed that not a lot of people use Smashbooks for themed book, so I thought I would video mine and hopefully give someone some inspiration from it.

Now it is my first video and it does need some alterations to it so I may upload it again when I have edited it slightly. The main issue is the lighting when I come to do it, I got my lighting just right, but then we had a massive rain storm and it come over all dark which whilst I was doing it I didn't really realise how dark it had got, so I may need to  lighten it up again.. I have spoke to hubby tho and he is going to set me some lights up using day light bulbs so that should help.

Anyway enough of me going on, you can find my You Tube channel here

Hope you like it and please remember it is my first video so things will be wrong but at least I have had a go.

All About The Fern

Morning Crafty Friends,

How are we all doing?

Today I thought I would share with you a  card that I made with a male in mind.

I used the two different fern stamps that you get with the pack - and stamped one with pine needles distress ink, and the smaller one with black soot distress ink, I randomly stamped these in all different directions.

I stamped the "Thank You" from the Wordage range.

I added a piece of ribbon and finished with a bow and three pieces of card candi.

I hope you like this, it is a little different for me and I think it could be used for a birthday card as well.

I am back next Monday and I have a gift bag to share with you then, don't forget to pop back each day to see what the rest of the Design Team have created.

Well Hello Shirley

Good Morning

My turn to share with you what I have created to share with you for inspiration.

This week I am sharing "Shirley"

I love Shirley she is so cute, with her mad hair and glasses, she is perfect for any age.

As it is summer I thought I would go with Bright and Funky colours, this is really not my normal colour scheme but it is so cheerful and bright I thought it would certainly stand out.

The base is an 8 by 8 white card blank with Bright Pink and Lime Green colour card stock which have been cut down by a 1/4 of an inch to give a nice border.

I used a designer paper from my stash which luckily complimented the image and my colour scheme perfectly.

I stamped Shirley out onto 300gsm card stock cut her out using a spellbinder die, and coloured her with promarker pens.

Hair; Walnut, Cocoa, Cinnamon, Sandstone
Top; Wild Cranberry, Pink Lobster, Rose Pink
Skirt; Leaf Green, Grass Green, Apple
Boots; Apricot, Honeycomb, Oatmeal
Skin; Ivory, Blush, Oatmeal, Sunkissed Pink
Glasses; Apple
Eyeshadow- Soft Aqua (Flex Marker)
 Lips - Vermillion (Flex Marker)
Edging - Soft Aqua

To finish the card I added a green wavy border with a pink strip across the center of it, I then added a sheer green ribbon and knotted it at one end.  I used a photo corner die in the green added to each corner. Finally to finish the card I punched out four flowers two in each colour and added gems to the center of the flowers and to the center of the corner dies.

I am going to enter this into the following challenges

Thanks for stopping in

Beary Christmas Fun

Good Morning Crafty Friends,

Today I have for you a Christmas Layout that I created and finished yesterday.
(Sorry be-warned it is a long post so a cuppa and a biscuit might be needed)

The page is a standard 12 x 12 page and the layout was created with the help of both my Cameo and explore.

The bear was cut using the Cricut Explore, I will show more of him in a moment.

The rest of the layout was created on the Cameo, and I photographed my sketch to share with you all

The layout is not in these colours but it gives you the idea of how I start creating my layouts - Now some of my layouts I have taken inspiration from other blogs (which I have owned up to) and have some I have followed sketch challenges.. This one I managed to create all by myself and I am so happy that the idea I had in my head, come out exactly how I wanted it to.. Normally this does not happen.

The measurements are (Inches)
White Layer - 12 x 12
Red Polka Dot - 11.75 x 11.75
Top Green Strip - 11.5 x 3.5
Top Stripe Strip - 11.5 x 1.75
Middle Section - 11.5 x 5.00
Bottom Green Section - 11.5 x 3.5
Bottom Stripe Section - 11.5 x 1.5
Wave Section - 11.5 x 1

This is how the papers all layered together
Next I started cutting my Bear out, I used my Explore for this as the cameo was busy cutting away the elements I had asked for it to cut. This is what he looked like when he was cut out, I cut him out in plain white card stock and used distress markers to colour him. He is from Kadoodle Bug Designs.
The bear was cut at 7.5 inches high by 4.5 inches wide
The bear was coloured using Brushed Corduroy for the main body and Vintage Photo for his ears. I used a Peachy Keen Character Face Parts Stamp for his eyes and chalk for his cheeks. I added glossy accents to his nose which was also coloured with Vintage Photo. The hat was coloured using promarker pens and I used Berry Red and Stardust Stickles Glue on the white to give it some sparkle. The holly was coloured using the Holly promarker pen and a red gem was added in the center.
Once everything was cut out I layered it all up on to the page to check everything fit and to see if I needed anything else cutting. (please don't worry nothing is stuck down at this point, that is why some of it is a bit wonky)
The title was cut using "Santa Sleigh" font this is a free font I got from Dafont.com and downloaded to my computer ( I will try and do a short post tomorrow about how to do this) The title was cut at 7.106 inches wide by 2.472 inches high I coloured this in with Fired Brick distress ink for the off set and used the Holly marker for the wording - this is the same for the 2009 at the bottom of the layout, the "2009" is cut at 2.808 inches long by 1.211 inches wide.
The Holly was cut using a "Miss Kates Cuttables" die I believe it has come from the "Christmas title" I cut this at 1.400 inches high by 2.278 inches wide. The holly was coloured with promarkers and I used Holly, Pine and Forest Green, the "Berry" was coloured using Cardinal Red and Berry Red.
This is the completed page! I think I have mentioned everything I have done with the page, I used a Resplendent Rectangle for the journal piece, unfortunately I don't have any photos for this year.

If there is anything you want to know and I haven't said what it is, then please leave a comment or email me and I will get back to you.

The challenges I am going to enter this into are:

Sew and So On Christmas Press Release - Do Crafts

Good Afternoon Guys,

This morning has been busy finishing off my Gloucestershire holiday smash book - it is finally done so now I can start on my Turkey one.. I will look at ways of sharing it with you, I think I am going to try and do my first ever video with it, and take photos for you as well.. Will have to have a play over the next few days, and see what comes out the best.

So whilst I was having a cuppa I thought I would check out my emails and just as I opened it up, one from Emma Collins from Do Crafts popped in, with the new press release - I don't think she could have timed it any better having a nice coffee and a nice read of what is to come.

I thought I would share with you what she has sent (don't worry I checked before hand to make sure it was okay)

I love the look of these kits and think if you have children, they would be fantastic to get them ready for the October Half Term, that way if they don't get it finished they have plenty of time after school to get it done ready for December.

And if like me you are a big kid at heart, then you can go grab them from September.  What I think I like about the kits, is all you need to do is add a needle.

That is it for now, don't forget to share with your crafty friends I am sure they would like to know as well.

**Just to confirm I am no way endorsed by Do Crafts, I do not work for them, nor have I been paid or received goods to announce this press release - Just a friendly crafter sharing some news**

Never Regret Something That Made You Smile

Good Morning.

Monday again and it is my turn to share with you what I have created.

So today I thought I would share with you a creation I made using the "Never Regret" stamp from the Wordage collection.

I LOVE this stamp the saying is so beautiful and can be used for so many occasions.

The card is in the shape of a DL but it is cut to 8 inches and folded in half to give the front a base of 4 inches.

Each layer is a 1/4 inch smaller than the last layer to give a nice border around.

The top layer is in two sections with the blue being 3 inches wide.

The Sentiment "Never Regret" (large)   from the Wordage range has been stamped using a clear stamp pad and embossed using a fine silver embossing powder.

I ran the blue section through my embossing machine and used the Inkables Chain Link Fence Mask

To finish the card I added white liquid pearls to the center of the "chain links" and to the edge of the sentiment.  I also added velvet ribbon in one full piece and a second piece which I cut down and folded to create a "bow" I secured this into place with a "pearl" brad.

I am going to enter this into the following challenges

Happy Anniversary

Good Morning Crafty People.

How are we all doing today?

July is my busiest time for wedding anniversary cards and I always get to the point were I am at a bit of a loss as to what to do especially as most of the cards are going to the same people.

After hours (and I mean hours) of research which involved chewing my husbands ear off, and searching websites, I still hadn't decided on a layout, it was only when I was looking through photographs of my parents scrapbook I made them for their 30th Wedding Anniversary;  That the idea hit me.. What about using a wedding photograph on a card.

That was it the idea started flowing and before I knew it the card was made.

I used my wedding card stock in the pink and white for the card, with a colour photograph of my parents wedding. I love the vintage feeling of the card. My parents have been married for 34 years.  Both young sweethearts when they got married, I think my mum was 18 and my dad was 19.

The card base was cut using a Spellbinder Nestability Labels One Grand Shape.

I matted and layered this up with pink and white card stock, printed the photo and made this square to fit into the last layer of the white.

I made home made roses and added these to the bottom, I added wild orchid craft flowers to the edges to compliment this. I finished the card of with a swirls, three butterflies, some liquid pearls and pearls in the center of the flowers.

The inside of the card was matted and layered with the same layers with a sentiment printed on pearl card, and a butterfly to edge it.. Unfortunately I forgot to get a pic of the inside of the card - oops

I am really pleased with how this turned out! It is the first card that I have made using an actual picture on the card, and I certainly don't think it will be the last.

The challenges I am going to enter this in to are:
