For A Boy

Good Morning Everyone,

How are you all this Sunday.

Today is the start of a new challenge week over at Eclectic Ellapu, this week is run by the pink team and this weeks theme is

FOR A BOY

I decided to use this theme as the perfect oppertunity to get my scrapbook page done of my cousins little boy from when he was born 3 years ago.. I no I am terribly behind in my scrapbooking..

To make the layout it is a single 12 x 12 with one 6x4 photo mat on.

The die cuts have been cut using the cricut and cut from the "New Arrival" cartridge.

The photo is the photo mummy sent to us all welcoming the new baby.

I have also cut a journal mat with the bottle sticking out from the edge, I have blanked out his personal details here.

The challenge I am entering this in to is:-
Allsorts - Button Up -  28/09

I hope you like the layout

I will be back in the next day or two with another layout and a fun card I made for a male

Reindeer Fun

Morning Everyone,

Hope you are all well.

Sorry I have not been around in blog land much again this week, I am still getting over the cold that I had last week and I started my new job on Tuesday so trying to get into the swing of work, crafting and blogging is going to take some getting used to.

Anyway today is a start of a new challenge over at Patties Creations this weeks theme is "Animals" so a nice easy one for us this week. Don't forget Pattie has a sale on her ETSY shop, she has a whopping 40% off the code you need is COUPON CODE PATTIEBOOP1

So onto this weeks card.

I have used Patties "Holiday Reindeer"   to create this card.
The card shape is a center stepper card, I love making this shape, but I need to remember to make it more often!

I matted my backing paper onto dark green card. The reindeer is cut using the opulent oval dies from spellbinders - can you tell I love this die set.
To finish the card I added two sprigs of leaves with bows, ribbon that has "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" stitched into it, added a bow using the same ribbon and added three card candi pieces to each side. I added glossy accents to the nose of the reindeer and to his eyes.  The image is coloured using my promarker pens

The challenges I am entering this into are:-
Divas by Design - Anything Goes -  25/09
I love Promarkers  - Anything Goes - 25/09
Creative Card Crew - Christmas - 24/09

Thanks for stopping bye and I hope to see you again soon.

Messy Rabbit Meets Autumn

Good Morning Everyone

Today is inspirational Monday over at Just for Fun Challenge Blog   and this time around we are showcasing Team B designs.

This months theme is Colours of Autumn

I loved making this card I don't normally do Autumn cards but I think this is perfect for a September birthday.

I also created this card to go with the challenge over  on the Papermill Direct Challenge Blog - this challenge also Autumn is to find a new design team member (or two)

Now for the lengthy process of how I made the card - bear with me it has a lot of elements to this one :-)

To start with I made my own 8x8 card blank - not forgetting to make it slightly less then 8x8 otherwise it wont fit in an envelope.

I used this beautiful orange/browny card stock from the Papermill this has been in my stash for some time now and I love it that much I am scared to use it, but this colour worked perfect with my idea.

The second layer is also from papermill and it is their white card stock, Normally I use hammered or linen but this is just a plain card stock I picked up from their store at the actual mill. On this layer I used three different colours of distress ink  and stamped randomly two different leaves creating my own background.  Another layer of that beautiful orange/browny colored card and then another layer of white card stock.

On the final layer of white card stock I ran it through a A4 Sue Wilson embossing folder, I spritzed it using Cosmic Shimmer Glimmer Mists, and then edged it with Gilding wax in a bronze colour. This

For the final layer I used the Spellbinders A2 Curved Die Set and used different designs to create the wave and again this was cut using the card stock from papermil.

To finish the card I stamped and embossed my messy rabbit and cut it out using Opulent Ovals by spellbinders, I coloured him in with promarker pens. (List Below)  I edged the die with distress ink and gilding wax in the bronze colour.

I stamped and embossed in a silver detail embossing powder a sentiment on the orange/brown card and then cut this again using opulent ovals.

And finally my finishing touches was to create my own flower So i started of cutting a five petal flower three times from my cricut (You could use a Cameo or any manual dies) coloured it in with a promarker (spice) that matched my card stock perfectly, and shaped to fit a rose, I added three leaves again cut from my cricut, and coloured these in a dark green, dark brown and light brown and added gilding wax to give it a sheen. I love how these have come out they really look like autumn leaves to me. I finally finished the card with a brown ribbon and bow, and liquid pearls dotted in two groups of a group of five, and one a group of three.

So after all the waffling I hope your still with me and haven't giving up hope yet. Here is the card

A close up of the flower and leaves
 Close up of Messy Rabbit
A close up to give the detail of the embossing with the cosmic shimmer spray and gilding wax

Recipe
Papermill card - I have had a look on their shop and I can't see the colour so I am thinking it would be one of these colours that was a limited run - That is why I loved going to their shops you got such a Large selection of colours.
Distress Inks
Embossing folder
Promarker - Cool Grey 1,2 and 3  Pink Blossom with blender pen, Burgundy, Ruby and Red and selection of browns, and greens for ground - just randomly done until I got it how I liked. and Spice for the flower
Flower and leaves - cut from cricut but can be any
Gilding wax
Liquid Pearls
Cosmic Shimmer Spray
Spellbinder Dies
Sentiment Stamp and Silver Detail embossing folder
 Ribbon

Golden Anniversary

Good Evening Everyone,

Hope you are all having a great day, I can not believe that 12 years ago today the world changed forever, my thoughts have been with all them people and families who lost loved ones on that tragic day!

So today I have for you a card I made for my parent in laws friends, I recently met them and they are such a delightful couple, they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last week and thought it would be appropriate to make them a card for their anniversary.

The card I made is using cream linen card stock from the Paper Mill. Gold pearl card and spellbinders.  I embossed the bottom section of the top mat and covered the join with a gold ribbon, I actually ran out of gold ribbon but did have a Christmas gold ribbon which said "marry Christmas" on but when you turned it over you couldn't read the writing - perfect for an emergency! I printed the sentiment of using my computer and changed the colour to "deep gold" and printed on pearl paper with a hint of gold to the pearl.

I finished it with a gold bow, and gems.

The challenges I am entering this in to are:-

The ABC challenge - U for Unlimited 15/9

BEE Happy

Morning Everyone,

Monday already? wow that weekend went quick.

Today is another inspiration Monday over on Crafty Bloggers Network.

The card I have made is another card that I made using the Imagine That - Bees and Sunflower Kit, I've got to say I really do like this kit.

Anyway here is the card

To make the card I selected my elements from the kit and printed them out, I cut the bee out using the Ocuplant Ovals from Spellbinders. I used brown and yellow ink to grunge the edges. I matted and layered up the backing paper and sentiment with brown card stock. Cut out six of the sunflowers and layered them up, I added glitter to the wings of the bees.

I hope you like thanks for stopping bye and on Wednesday I will be back with another project.

And They Call It Puppy Love

Good Afternoon Everyone,

How are you all? Hope you weekend is going well.. Here in the North East we had horrendous rain and unfortunately a lot of local places to me have suffered with flooding. A well known seaside town had a nightmare of a time with cars getting washed away.. Anyway it is over with now and the been clean up can begin, luckily Mr Sun has decided to come out and play again and help with the big clean up.

Anyway today is the start of a new challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu, and this time it is being hosted by AshaAsha has chosen the theme of

"And They Called It Puppy Love"

We would love to see your furry friends new and old.

So on to my creation for the theme, actually it was a perfect challenge as it made me make a start on my Leo's scrapbook that I keep saying I want to get started but haven't got around to it yet.

So I decided to use the photo I love my hubby (partner at the time) took this pic this is the day we went to see him and he is six weeks old. We fell in love straight away and put a deposit down on him there and then, I am telling you them two weeks that I had to wait before I could bring him home, went so slowly.

The page is a 8x8 scrapbook page, which i matted with a 7 3/4 x 7 3/4 heart paper. To give it a bit of different I used the largest and second largest Grand Nestie Label 1 dies and off set them, one I left plain and used a small nib pen to give dots, the second layer is a paw print layer.
I matted Leo onto a cream mat and then a dark brown mat.
The writing has been cut using Ocuplant Ovals again from spellbinders, the title, dog and banner have all been cut using the cricut machine. To finish it of I added a little red collar to the dog (Leo had a red collar whilst he was a puppy) a red heart in between his paws, and six card candi, I then went around the base layer using a dark brown pen and completed with faux stitching.

The challenges I am entering this into are:-
Brown Sugar Challenge - Animals -13/09
Creative Fingers Challenge Blog - Anything Goes - 13/09

I hope you like the page, and I hope to see you all joining in with the current challenge.

Gift Tag Cutie

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Patties  This weeks theme is "Gift Tags"
Now we want to see how you create gift tags using digital images. No gift tags on cards allowed must be an actual gift tag.

Now this was a challenge for me, as I have tried to do two gift tags now and not liked either of them, but this time I went with a different style of gift tag, and actually I really like this one. It is a large gift tag for a large pressie, but that's okay I like big pressies. I actually gave the gift tag to my hubby and told him it was the perfect size for my pressie "hinting at a cameo" haha

So the tag was made using a white card stock measured at 3" x 6" with the layers slightly reduced by a 1/4 of an inch each time.

To finish the tag of I used a sentiment "Winter Wishes" four little snowflakes each with a gem in the center to give it some bling, and one large snowflake behind the image.

The image I used is one of Patties designs which you can get here
He is so cute I just love him and can see him being featured on future tags as well.

#1 Dad

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Hope you are all okay and having a nice day, so many of my friends and family children are starting back at school, and a lot starting for the first time and moving up to secondary school. So many tears will have been shred these last few hours.

The card I have for you today is a card I made for a male. I set my self my own challenge and this challenge was to use no stamps. Now for me that is hard as stamping is my go to every time I need to make a card. So to make this one I decided to use my Cricut machine as the main feature of the card.

I started by picking my colours and decided to go with the orange and brown with a hint of blue.

I picked an Orange and Brown stripe backing paper and then coordinated it with blue and brown stripe backing paper, this piece I ran through and Argyle embossing folder to give it added texture.

The Main die cut is backed onto three layers all within the colour of the card and I cut the #1 Dad in brown.

To finish the card of I added white detail to the die cut, twine down the center of the backing paper and liquid pearls were added to again give dimension to the card.

Here is the card

 This is the topper
A close up of the embossing on the paper

The challenges I am entering this into are:-

Happy Bee Day

Good Morning Everyone,

Wow where did the last week go, sorry I have not been around family issues kept getting in the way!

Anyway I am back!

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Crafty Bloggers Network!

This months theme is Things With Wings, this challenge is sponsored by Kris at Imagine That

The lucky winner will receive three digi sets of their choice!

For today's card I used the digi kit Bee n Sunflowers.

I started by selecting my topper, backing papers and sentiment the good thing about these kits is everything is set to coordinate perfectly so making it really easy to get all the elements together. I also printed out some of the embellishments from the kit.

I printed out the honeycomb backing paper and ran this through an embossing folder from Sue Wilson, concentrate Circles I think it was called. I also printed out the black backing paper and the "bee girl" I printed the bee girl four times and decoupaged her up giving her lots of depth to make her pop.

I added glitter to her wings and glossy accents to her eyes.

To finish the card I matted the black onto a brown mat, and the stripe at the bottom onto brown mat as well. To finish the card I printed the sunflower and an additional little bee, cut these out and shaped. I then added a piece of ribbon and a bow and three card candi.

The challenges I would like to enter this into are:-

Challenges 4 Everyone - #28 Anything Goes
Glitter and Sparkle - # 48 Anything Goes

Thanks for looking
