Popcorn Anniversary Card

Morning Everyone,

This is a card I have made for my Husbands Aunt and Uncle who are celebrating their wedding anniversary today.

The image is from the Popcorn Bear Romance Collection by Crafters Companion
I have stamped the image up using Stazon, and colored in using Lyra Water colours. I have not used these for a while and after colouring in this image I can say that I have missed them, Promarkers are easier to use as they blend quicker but water colours give a nice soft edge to the image.

So the card is covered with a backing paper that I believe I got free in a magazine so I don't know what it is called or who does it, this has been edged with gold peel offs. On top of this I have put a cut out of a flower frame, chalked this to match the card blank colour, I have then used an Organza Red ribbon and ran this up the card and finshied with a bow using the same ribbon.

The image has been matted onto cream card blank and in the four corners I have used red gems to give the look of brads and to add a bit of glam to the image.

The card has been finished with a handmade flower I have created using the Cricut Machine and a sentiment of "Happy Anniversary" the topper has been finished nicely with the hearts and the edge of the rose, having a bit of glitter added to them.

Tatty Ted Anniversary Card

Morning Everyone,

Today's card is another anniversary card, this time I have used Tatty Ted to create the main image.
The card is on a blue base card as close to Tatty Teds nose colour as I could get, and then using various backing papers mounted on to pearled grey card, the main image has been backed on to Silver Mirror card to give it a bit of sparkle. In one corner of the card I have made a rosette and in another corner I have placed three blue gems. The sentiment Happy Anniversary Mam and Dad is cut out using the Cricut machine and is out of the same grey card as the backing to the papers.  Tatty Ted has been stamped using Memento ink called London Fog, the only extra colouring in I have done is to the patch and the paws and I used a grey Promarker for this and coloured his nose in using a various blues again from the Promarker collection.

Fizzy Moon - Thinking of You Card

Morning Everyone,

Today is my first ever card I have made using Fizzy Moon, the card is for a friend of mine who is having a hard time with her knee, so thought I would send her something to make her smile.

The card is again based on spring/summer colours so again for this card I have chosen yellow as my theme.
To start the card I have used a cream a4 base card folded in half, with half the page covered in a spare piece of backing paper I have had which is from the Messy Rabbit CD Collection by Joanna Sheen

The image is stamped using Pro marker pens, and then matted onto a loop square that has been cut using the Cricut Expression Machine and the Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art Cartridge, the flower was also cut from the same cartridge, the leaves have been cut from Stretch your Imagination, and the flower was finished off with a brad in the center and funky foam twisted and heated into a spiral.

For the Sentiment "Flowers for you" this was stamped onto a cream tag.

To finish the card I have placed a  band of cream ribbon across the join of the backing paper and the card, and finished it with three yellow gems, and I have used Glossy Accents on the bears nose and the center of the flowers.

Sugar Nellie Country Garden Birthday Card

Morning Everyone,

Today I am showing you a card I have made for my friend.

The card is made using a Sugar Nellie stamp called Country Garden, as it is summer I thought a nice summer colour would be appropriate and went for yellow. The card is an A5 card blank in a cream/yellow colour, half the card is covered in backing paper with yellow flowers and purple bows on it. I went for this backing paper to pull the purple out from her top. The image is stamped and coloured in using Promarker pens and then mounted onto a Nestabilitie Die, which has been chalked in green. The card is finished with a bow, gems, a handmade flower and a greeting made from the Cricut Machine using Create a Critter saying "Happy Birthday"

Bah Humbug Challenge - Going Green

Morning Everyone,

Wow I have just got this card finished photographed and uploaded to the site in time.
This card is for this weeks challenge on the Bah Humbug blog for the challenge "Going Green"
Here is what I did.
The card is an A4 Dark Green card blank, with a piece of backing paper I saved from a magazine, this is matted onto the green card and finished with a gold peel off (actually it is the left over section from a peel off) the topper is a Sugar Nellie stamp called Winter Wonderland, I have coloured it in using Pro Marker Pens. The image is matted onto green card stock the same colour as the base and again edged with the left over peel offs, I have then matted this onto cream card stock, which is recycled from a card that went wrong. The card is then finished with a bow, a sentiment I pinched from a Christmas card I received last year (don't worry it was originally a shop bought card) and the stars are what was left from the confetti I had on my Christmas table last year.

When I first found out it was recycling a little grown come from me, but as soon as I started looking in my box, loads of stuff come pouring out, so if I actually think about it the only thing that is brand new is the stamped image, and the bow.

New Owner

Well, No cards for me at the moment, but will be two later on in the week.

Well now for the reason behind this post, I am now a new owner of a Cricut Expression Machine, I have the Create machine, and for about the last 6 months I have said I wanted an Expression, my hubby has gone to buy me one on more then one occasion but because of the price of it, I was put of, then I heard that Provo Craft are releasing the Expression 2 in the UK next month, now I was very tempted, but thought about it, and decided to wait for at least a year before I got the new model, reason behind this, is I have been on hundreds of American Blogs and noticed that the machine had a few minor technical faults, that needed updates to be done to it (it is all electronic and touch screen) so after many long talks with my husband (bless him) I decided to wait a little while let all the bugs off the expression 2 get sorted and then up grade in maybe a years time.
BUT I am over the moon, now I just need to wait for the postman to come and deliver it, hopefully tomorrow, but it best not come till I have been and got my car MOT done.

Well thanks for reading and like I said I will now go and get on with them cards for you which I will get up on here as soon as possible.

Guest Designer Bah Humbug - Ruffles and Pleats

Morning Everyone,

Well this is the last card I need to make for my guest designer post at Bah Humbug Challenge Blog.
I have really enjoyed my time as a guest designer and do not want it to end.
This card that I have got for you this week is a card using pleats and ruffles, and my word I had a real hard time with this one. The end card is one of 10 half finished cards that just did not fit the bill and got abandoned half way through.

The card I have made is a DL size card, with holly backing paper folded into pleats, fixed half way across the DL card and finished of with a gold border peel off over the top of the pleated edge.
The image is a beautiful Sarah Kay rubber stamp called "winter wonderland" I stamped the image using momento ink pad, and coloured in using promarkers. To give the definition of vintage I edged around the stamp with Tim Holtz Distressed ink.  The topper was put onto red backing paper and then mounted half onto the pleated paper and cream card base.
To highlight the snow on the topper I used a Sakura jelly roll white pen.
The flower I have created using 18" off ribbon and to create the ruffle of the flower, I have done a runner stitch down one edge of the ribbon, the cotton is then pulled to create a ruffle, I then manipulated the ribbon into a circle and sealed it with a pearl brad.
The card is then finished off with a Christmas sentiment and three red gems.

Guest Designer Bah Humbug - Challenge - Santa

Morning Everyone,

Well I have using the new software for blogger and at the moment I am liking, I also have sorted out auto upload (i hope) so fingers crossed this works.

So for this week's challenge it is all about Santa, now I can tell you I had a bit of trouble with this one (but not nearly as much as the one for next week, but you'll have to wait till next Friday to find out more about that) I normally do Santa as a character i.e. popcorn, messy, but this time I was thinking off doing more off a traditional one, now it might have just been me but crikey I couldn't get my head around it, so after throwing a paddy I went back to my trusted characters, and pulled out the Joanna Sheen Messy Rabbit Christmas Collection, and found the Rat dressed as Santa trying to deliver the presents. So I went with this but changed the colour scheme to a colour I would not normally use for Christmas, but I think it works quiet well.

First off all I found the topper I wanted printed the topper out four times so that I could decoupage it up, then using the same CD printed of the two corresponding backing papers, I decided I wanted to make an easel card and went for a 6x6 square for a change (now just need to buy envelopes) One of the backing papers is a dark blue with presents on, I decided to work with the blue on the backing paper and this is how the card developed, I backed the blue backing paper onto white card, using a square of dark blue card I matted the white hat backing paper onto the blue card and mounted this onto the dark blue backing paper. I then mounted the decoupaged image onto white card, which was then mounted onto a chalked blue piece of card to give me 7 layers on the top (this will not be posted out, I think I would need a loan to post it with the postage prices today) For the easel part of the card I did exactly the same matting as the main image and mounted a Happy Christmas Banner greeting onto it. To finish off the card I put a dark blue satin bow on, three snowflakes that I promarkered, to get the colour to and three blue gems at the bottom of the topper section. On the topper itself I coloured in the presents with Sakura gel pens to give a bit of bling, The snow on the chimney, is created using "fake snow" that I got from a model train shop. The fluffy part of the coat, hat and trousers is created using a product called "fluffy stuff" however I didn't let it fully fluff up.

So lets have a look at the card.

Martini Girls Have Fun

Afternoon Everyone,
Here is a card I have made today for a couple of challenges. The card is made using an A4 card blank folded in half to create A5 size, in baby pink card. The card was then covered with a cream and pink backing paper, then an additional piece of complementary backing paper was added in creams and brown, to pull out the cream flower topper. This backing paper was mounted onto the same baby pink card as the card blank, on both off the backing paper and baby pink card all the corners have been rounded off. The topper has been cut using a cut from the nestabilities range, the pink is a deeper shade of pink then the backing paper, to "show" off the topper. The image is a digital image that I have had for about a year now, which has been printed using a laser printer (which is best as the ink doesn't bleed as bad as an ink jet) The topper was then cut using the a smaller nestabilitie, and then coloured in using promarker pens. I picked a pink to complement the colours off the card and backing sheets. I have handmade the six flowers that are on the card, and each flower has a small pearl in the centre, to create the finished look with the flowers I have used my Cricut Create machine and the Wild Cart Cartridge to cut the dark green leaves out and the pink swirls. To finish the card off I have put a small swirl onto the bottom off the card and attached a pink bow with pearls on to the swirl, added a few swipes off clear glitter pen to the glass to give the illusion that the glass is shiny, and to her lips to create the feel off lip gloss on. Then a sentiment topper saying "On your special day" was added, I went for a simple topper so that the card could be used for numerous occasions.
