Scrappy Leo

Afternoon Everyone

Tried to get this post up this morning, but life got it in the way, so better late then never I guess.

Today I have for you a layout I  have made of my dog Leo from when he was two years old and we had a weekend in the Lake District.

The layout I kept kind of simple but I think it works well, I really had to try hard not to use my cricut to much as I like my pages to look different from each other.

I did use a few cuts from the cricut machine and the coloured them in to match my papers using my promarker pens.

Here is the layout.

The Challenges

I would like to enter this page into the following challenges

Bearly Mine Challenges - Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments Design - Buttons
Passion of Promarker - Anything Goes

That is it for me, I have a card for Friday, which I think you are going to love.

Eclectic Ellapu DT Card

Morning Everyone,

How are you all??

Today I have for you a card I have made for the Eclectic Ellapu challenge - This week it is the turn of the pinks to run the challenge and the theme has been decided as Anything Goes.

The challenge will run until the 25th May, so why don't you pop yourself over and take a peek around and most importantly join in the fun of a challenge, they really are good and don't be shy we love to see new people and ideas

Now for the card and details.

The card I made is an A5 card it just so happens to be a mans card as well (purely because I will be able to use it for a card for my parents to give to my father in law for his birthday ) I matted and layered the card using different coloured mats, that I actually created using promarker pens as I didn't have any coloured card in the colours I was wanting..( See promarkers are not just for stamping ) All I did was cut the mats to the size I wanted then using the fat end of the pen went around the each mat in the correct colours about a half inch in just enough so when the next mat went on top you couldn't see the line of the pen.

The image is a stamp from LOTV and is just the cutest, I paper pierced his chair to give him a bit of character and so  not everything was coloured with just promarker pens which I used to finish of the image.  I really do like this effect but forget to do it .. doh..

The brown spotty mat was cut using the smallest of the Grand Nestabilities Label 1 die from Spellbinders - I love these. The paper used was actually a free bee I got when I ordered a Cricut cartridge from a wonderful company who I use a lot - and I must say I really do like it.

To finish the card of I did some embossing using an Argyle embossing folder I inked the folder first then ran it through, when it come out I just lightly inked the edges that needed trimming to tie it all in and rounded the corners.  I put to little pieces of the spotted card - now what would you call them flags/bunting. I'll let you decide. Finally finished with a sentiment some string and some card candi.

Wow what a whopper of a post this turned out to be, sorry if I have half bored you to death, but I do like to explain on some cards especially the male ones what I have done, so hopefully it inspires you as well.

 Here is the card

LOTV Blog Hop Winner

Morning All,

As some of you will know Lili of the Valley (LOTV) has recently done a release of vintage boys stamps. (released 6th May ) to celebrate the release, LOTV did a blog hop through their design team blogs, it is a great way to see all the different stamps that are coming out and a wonderful way to get inspiration from the talented Design Team that they have. As always LOTV is very generous when it comes to their hops, and announced that located in the design teams blog would the chance for two people to win a full set of their new Vintage Boy stamp range.

The good thing about this is nobody knows were the prices are going to be hidden, so you have to hop along to each blog and leave a comment just encase it is on that blog. I was very lucky to be announced last weekend that I had been one of the two chosen winners. All I had to do was leave a comment on the correct blog, the comments were then read by Anne from LOTV and she selected the winner.  The blog I left my comment on was the talented POPS.

I was absolutely over the moon with this, my hubby thought we had won the lottery when I opened my email the look on my face was apparently full of excitement.

I have stamped out all the images and posted them below so you can see what the stamps look like, and also you can see how generous LOTV are.

Here are the stamps - This is what they look like when they come to you, they are already pre cut to go straight on a block and ink and stamp, easy as 1 2 3

I stamped out the images as soon as they landed on the doorstep this is what they look like when they are stamped - trust me this is a quick stamp I literally had five minutes to stamp them as I was rushing out the door, and they all stamped out first time perfectly - as always.
Anyway a Massive thanks again to LOTV for this lovely collection of stamps.

That's it for me

Some Bunny Thanks You

Morning Everyone,

How are you all today??

Today for you I have a card that I have made using my Cricut Machine.

I used the cartridge Wild Card,  for the card blank and the circles and Create a Critter 2 for the rabbit flowers, clouds and the carrot, the grass has been cut from Paper Dolls.

The inside of the card circles were also cut from the Wild Card Cartridge and chalked blue and yellow, on the yellow section a sentiment of "Thank You" was stamped and embossed using fine detail silver embossing powder. The back of the card, two circles were cut and chalked using again the blue and yellow chalks. I edged the circles in fake stitches and drew some fake birds around the carrot.

The Gingham was just from my stash, the blue is chalked on

Sue WIlson A4 Embossing Folder - Sea Garden

Morning Everyone,

I was out shopping the other day in a shop not far from me in Washington, when I come across a very small selection of Sue Wilson's, new embossing folders. The lady only had one left of the Sea Garden and another of the Cascading Hearts. I picked Sea Garden as I thought it could be used for both male, female and scrapbooks. However I will be back for more of these.

The only thing I found was that they are not 100% A4 but are perfect for matting on an A4 card as by the time it is trimmed it will leave a border around the mat just nicely. I am thinking Sue probably had this in mind when she come up with them.

I only got it a few days ago, and have not had the opportunity to make a card with the embossing folder yet, but I did run it through my Grand Calibre to see how it embossed, I have done it on a white card stock, a very faint blue card stock and then to see what it would look like inked up, I took my Tim Holtz Distress ink to the folder and ran a blank white card stock through to see what the effect would be.

The Product.

The White Card Stock
(Sorry the photo has not come out very well )
The Pale Card Stock
The Inked Card Stock

Well that's it for me for today

I will be back soon
