Christmas In July

 Good Morning Everyone

Today is a new challenge starting over at The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog.

Again this weeks theme is "Anything Goes" and our sponsor is the generous Rick St Dennis

I went with the Christmas theme, as Christmas in July is big at the moment, unfortunately time ran away from me and I haven't been able to create as many Christmas projects as I would have liked.

I printed the image of using my laser printer, if you don't have a laser printer I have been told you can set the image with hairspray before colouring with alcohol markers. I used a selection of promarkers to colour her in. I hate using the reds I can never blend them out, but this combination seems to have worked well.

To give the frame I cut the largest die from the Opulent Ovals set from Spellbinders this has got to be one of my favourite sets that I have.

I cut the poinsettia and swirls out using my cricut and layered the flower up to give extra dimension.

I added distress ink around the frame, red liquid pearls, red bow and a sentiment that was again cut out using the opulent oval set.

The image is Isabella from Rick St Dennis.

I am entering this into the following challenges:-

Scrap Creations - Anything Goes -  13/8
You Can Digi It - Holiday Hullabaloo #41 - 13/8
Party Time Tuesdays - Anything Goes #131 -  6/8

Happy 1st Birthday

Good Morning Everyone,

Today is a new challenge starting over at Eclectic Ellapu This weeks theme everyone favourite "ANYTHING GOES" has been selected by the talented Elaine - She has made a wonderful creation using a ceramic welly from the £1 shop. Well worth popping over and having a look.

This week I decided to have a go at doing a scrapbook layout for our little relatives 1st birthday party. I seen the layout in a magazine and thought I would have a go at it. however I am not entirely happy with it, so it might get a bit of a tweak. Amazing how you make something and at the time your happy with it, then when you go back to it, your not keen.  Seems to be happening more and more to me at the min, maybe I am just being to picky.

I have blanked out the little lads face (can't be to careful these days can you)

This is the first page of a double layout, I will show the second page later in the week

The challenges I am entering this into are:-
Designs By Lisa Somerville: Bloggers Challenge They say it is your birthday 2/8
Crafts for Eternity R#134- Anything Goes -2/8

This weeks theme is Recipe - Use at least 3 of an embellishment from the list. Buttons, Charms, Flowers, Gems/Pearls, Ribbon or Sentiment.

The image I used was Glamour Girl which you can get here

To create the card I used the Grand Nestabilities Label 23 - The largest die.
I then used my mask from Splodge Away and embossed it then used a yellow distress ink and inked through the mask to give the embossing colour whilst the background stays white. To finish the card of I added yellow flowers, yellow and polka dot ribbon, gems and white liquid pearls around the image. The image was coloured in using my promarkers and for a change I used the yellow section.

Anniversary Time - Good News

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Just For Fun
New Challenge Blog
Firstly the good news, I was asked by Elaine from Just For Fun Challenge blog if I would like to be part of her new design team for her new challenge blog, and of course I couldn't say no now could I. The first challenge starts on the 1st of August and the prize for this challenge is beautiful, make sure you pop back soon for more details :-)

Now onto the card. I celebrated my 4th year Wedding Anniversary on the 11th July, and the card I have for you is the card I made my hubby. I was trying not to do over cute but also to do romantic, I really struggled with this card this year for some reason.

Anyway I am pleased with the end results. I decided to make the card blank using one of my hubbies fav shapes, he really likes the cards that are made using the Grand Nesties Label 1 so thought I would make his with it. Next I used one of the new embossing folders he bought me from Sue Wilson, and this one was cascading hearts (another of his favorite) I used a Sarah Kay image and coloured it in using promarker and flex markers. The sentiment is from I believe a popcorn bear stamp plate, from Crafters Companion. The die cut around the sentiment is from Spellbinders and again one of my hubbies fav shapes. I finished the card with a piece of white ribbon and bow, three pieces of Card Candi, I went around the image with white liquid pearls and added a "pearl" using the same technique on the embossed background, and finally a heart that was cut from my cricut machine and embossed then using my gilding wax I highlighted the embossing, another of my hubbies fav techniques.

My hubby is very supportive of my crafting and he isn't afraid to give his opinion on something be in positive or negative, so I liked using his fav techniques to make his card. He was over the moon with it.

I am entering this card into the following challenges.

613 Avenue Create #29-Anything Goes - 29/7
Digi Design Challenge - Wedding/Anniversary/Congratulations - 3/8
Hiding In My Craftroom - Freestyle - 27/7
Little Claire's - Wedding/Anniversary Theme -  17/8

Thank you for popping in and taking the time to have a look around the blog and as always all comments good or bad are really appreciated and I take the time to read each and every one of them.

Have a Waggy Day

Good Morning Everyone.

Hope you are all well.

Today is another challenge over at The Crafter's Cafe Challenge Blog

This weeks challenge is again "anything goes" and we are being sponsored by Creative Bugs

Now due to family commitments, this card was a bit last minute, and is very simple but I think you will still like it.

So to start of with I coloured my image in using promarkers and then cut it out using Spellbinders "opulent ovals" I used a very faint gilding wax around the edge of the die, but I  could not get it to photograph which is frustrating.  For the hat I coloured it in blue and used sakura gelly roll pens to glitter the stars up.
I backed the card in a vibrant stripe background of red, yellow white and blue.
The border was cut using spellbinders border dies and then embossing using an embossing folder.
I matted a layer of white ribbon and a bow to give dimension. I could the corners using Cherry Lynn Designs Die - Lace Corner Deco A.
To finish the card I stamped a sentiment cut it out using a smaller die from the opulent oval dies, I added two gems either side of the dog and three pieces of card candi red, white and blue.

Like I said the card is simple but can't be helped.

The challenges I am going to enter this into are:-
Anything Goes Challenge Blog - Anything Goes # 97 -  23/7
Through The Craftroom Door - Anything Goes - 23/7
Tuesday Throwdown - Anything Goes # 156 - 23/7

Thanks for hopping past.

See you soon

Messy Rabbit Anniversary Wishes

Good Morning

This is the card I made for this weeks challenge over at Eclectic Ellapu

It was my turn to host the challenge and I decided as all the summer flowers were starting to come out that I would make the theme "flowers"

This card is also one I made for my brother to give to our parents for their wedding anniversary.

I have used Messy Rabbit for the image and coloured with promarker pens. I inked the edges of the die cut.

I created handmade flowers and added these to the card for dimension. The corner dies have been cut in red card and then waxed using gilding wax.

Monochromatic Christmas

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you are all well. I can not believe it is Friday already this week has gone so quickly.

Today is the start of a new challenge over at Pattie's Creation Design Challenge Blog.

This weeks theme is Monochromatic

For this challenge I used Pattie's cute little Pearl the Penguin .. Isn't he delightful. You can buy him from Pattie's store here

I coloured the image in using promarkers, it was my first attempt at doing sepia and it was hard to work with just the three/four pens that I had selected, having to step away from the usual pink/purples was a task in it's self.

Hope you like him. .

Inky Impressions - Christmas In July - 16/7

Good Afternoon Everyone,

How are you all today? A quick belated Happy Fourth of July to all my American Friends. Hope you all had a fab day, we don't celebrate it as a country here but my family always have a celebration as it is my parents wedding anniversary.

The card I am showing you today was created for my husbands dad to give to his wife for their wedding anniversary.

The card was created using a a4 piece of card folded to create an easel effect the main part of the card was cut using a Marianne Creatables Anja Large Oval Die Cutting and Embossing Stencil, with the champagne glasses, flowers and leaf embellishments cut using the Cricut machine.  To give additional texture I ran an embossing folder over the cream card.

OO LA LA

Morning Everyone,

A quick message to say thank you to my new followers and a thank you to everyone who leaves comments, they really do mean a lot and I hope by popping in I give you lots of inspiration.

Any how on to today's card.  As you know last week I announced I had been selected to join the new Design Team over at The Crafters Cafe Challenge Blog we had our design team hop held over six days to introduce everyone. Well today is the first challenge I have with them.

The theme for this challenge is "Anything Goes"

Our sponsor for this week is Rick St Dennis.

The card I made is using one of Ricks Images called "Mae" isn't she lovely. I coloured her in slightly different to what others have I gave her a pale pink top, where others have left it as a basque with more skin showing, just shows how different people take the image differently and it shows that one image can be used in two different ways depending upon whom the recipient is.

To embellish the card I used a mixture of handmade flowers and flowers that were purchased many moons ago and were in my stash. The pink ribbon is stuck on over the edge of the lace to give extra detail and two hat pins have been pushed in behind the image. To give the card even more texture I added a white feather behind the image. I completed the card with a corner die cut using my cricut machine and three pink gems on the edge along with a pink gem in the center of her top.

The challenges I am entering my card into are:-

Scrap-Creations - Ribbon and Bow -  9/7
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes - 9/7
ABC Challenge - Anything Goes -8/7
Craft Dee Bowz - July Challenge - Anything with A Bow - End July
