Flower Power

Morning Crafty People

Today I have a card for you that I have created using various different techniques.

I am not 100% on the flower but it is my first attempt of making this type of flower it turned out a bit bigger then I realised and by the time I had noticed it was stuck fast to the card.

Hay Ho that's what crafting is all about tho isn't it? trying new things things and seeing how to make them better next time.

I treated myself to a couple of new things this week mainly using up some of my Christmas pennies that I had left over.

I treated myself to a set of the Grand Nestabilities Label 1 - The card with these used on will be up next week.  Then I popped to my local craft shop to to see what he had new in (he is always tempting me with new things) any way in I go not really wanting anything and then I come out with a set of A2 Curved Labels One Borders by spellbinders and Oh my goodness I LOVE them, they make such a beautiful design to the the card.

I love this card colouring the dark green with the pastel purples and blue really make me feel like it is a spring card perfect for a spring anniversary, and the bit of glitter I put in the center of the flowers gives it a fab shimmer to the card.

Anyway enough of me rambling on here is the card.

Some of you may have seen it on my twitter account as I put a sneaky peak on there earlier in the week.

Spring Coloured Birthday

Afternoon Crafty People,

How are you all??

I can not believe how random this weather is, we have had some lovely sunshine up in the North East over the last couple of days, so much so we even managed to get out into the garden and get the grass cut along with hedges trimmed, drive cleaned cars washed, now within two days the heating is back on. Random!

The Card I have for you today is a card I made for my farther in law to give to my mother in law for her birthday and apparently they both loved it.

I went over the top with this card but I loved it. I also experimented with lots of different papers and a colour combination that I never thought I would use, but it worked out alright.

So The card is an 8x8 card blank covered with five coordinating backing papers.
The main topper is a image I stamped from the Crafters Companion Popcorn Bear Range I stamped it in black ink and embossed it with a clear embossing powder. I then coloured it in using my Promarker pens.  The sentiment is from a Humprey stamp plate, again stamped in black ink and embossed using clear embossing powder. I personalised it by writing in the recipients name.

I created a spray of flowers these are all hand made I started by cutting a five petal flower from my Cricut machine, coloured them in to match the colours of the backing papers and the topper with my Promarker pens, each flower is created from three five petal flowers cut and shaped into the rose shape. To create the different sizes I simply cut the flowers from the cricut in different sizes.  To finish the flowers I popped a stamen in the center of each rose. The leaves are also cut from the Cricut machine and coloured in using Promarker pens.
To finish the card I embellished it with pink ribbon and coloured buttons.

The inside of the card has been completed to patch the front of the card, I matted and layered different papers and then printed an insert of my computer.

So enough of the ramblings here is the card

Something A Bit Different

Morning Crafty People

Today I have for you a scrapbook page I have just completed.

It is part of my scrapbook that I have just finished for the trip me and my family took to Center Parcs in the Lake District England back in September last year.

I started it near enough straight away but with Christmas and one thing after another I have only just finally got around to finishing it this morning.

The page I am showing is part of a double page layout. The second page to the one shown has simply the most beautiful red squirrel photos ever.

The pages I created below was done using my Cricut machine. I used the Create a Critter Cartridge and to create my Acorn and Squirrel.

For the background I used some crafting chalk as I didn't want a striking blue backing when I finished it, I found I thought it looked like the sky.

The "clouds" I have made are from cotton wool and I did this just to give another texture to the page.

The grass was cut from Paper Doll Dress up and coloured in using promarker pens.

The "caution red squirrels " sign is actually a photograph one of us took on the trip, I cut around the sign and stuck it on the bottom of the page.

To finish the page I decided to "draw" some birds in - you no the kind the more of a tick kind of bird.

Anyway I hope you like my page.

As always any comments are greatly appreciated and I do take the time to read every single one of them, and where possible I pop over to your own blog to have a look around as well. :-)

Happy Birthday

Afternoon Everyone

Firstly a quick thank you for all your kind comments that have been left on my previous cards, means a lot and I do enjoy reading them.

On to today's card I have for you a card I have made for my husbands aunts birthday, she turns 50 at the end of the month so I wanted something simple and elegant I took inspiration from a card that was on the Internet but unfortunately I have no contact details for the owner (if it is you please let me know and I will put the recognition on that you deserve) As I didn't want my card to be a simple copy I changed it slightly by putting extra ribbon on the card, and card candi which I love as they do resemble brades and the faux look of the is just perfect for this card. The card I have also embossed at the top and at the bottom, and where the embossing ends on each section I have used a black velvet ribbon to hide the end of the embossing panel. To finish the card I have added very small clear gems on the flowers and under the sentiment.

I also made the exact same card for my friend who also turned 40 this week but unfortunately in my hurry I forgot to photograph the card. I did the 40th card in purple and creams and put a big 40 on the front in place of three of the card candi.

I will try and get a pic of it but can not guarantee it.

Anyway enough of the jabbering on here is the card.
