Happy Birthday Wellington

Afternoon Everyone,

I am a bit late then the normal Friday update, but my husband is on holiday from work and we where due to go away to the lake district but the snow stopped that, the site we where planning on going to had 5 foot snow drifts two days before we where due to go so decided to stay home instead and explore the local area. So got a tad busy.

But I am here today and the card I am sharing is a card I have made for my Grandad he will be turning 80 at the end of April (day before my own) he is a sufferer from dementia and unfortunately is now in a home, even though he does not recognize who I am any more I still know who he is and he loves gardening so decided on the lovely image from the Do Crafts Wellington CD I decoupaged it up and using the Do Crafts Design Studio, I created my own background paper.
I mounted this onto various different mats to give it a bit of a texture to the card and added a piece of ribbon which I put another piece of ribbon under to create a "knot"

I hope you like and as always all comments are appreciated.

Another Card for you this week

This card was made for my mothers day card as she is into sewing, card making, quilting, art, painting anything really so this seemed to fit just nicely with her.

I have used a backing paper printed from the computer I believe it is from the boofle collection from do crafts.

The image is from the Happy Hoppers range from Joanna Sheen and it has been coloured using promarker pens.

The flower and swirls have been cut from my cricut expression machine.

Anyway here is the card

Flower Power

Morning Everyone,

A new card for me today,

I have created this card using the LOTV Stamp If Friends Were Flowers , it was released back in November and I think it is delightful, very easy to stamp and colour in, which I  have found in the past with flower stamps to be a bit of a pain. I guess it is down to the quality of the LOTV stamp.

I made this card for my mother in laws mothers day card, It is a little bit different from my normal style of card. I like the idea and love the colours of the backing papers when I made the card I did like the flower I created but when looking back I kind of wish that I had used my normal "rose" style but I guess it is just different. The main thing is the Hubby loved it and so did the mother in law. So I guess that is all that counts.

Well enough ramblings here is the card

The recipe for the card is:
A4 Cream Hammered Card
Backing Paper - This believe it or not has been in  my stash for years and I have only just got around to using it up.
Lili of the Valley - If Friends were flowers stamps
The Flower was cut using the cricut machine in various different sizes
Swirl and Leaves are all cut as well from using the cricut machine.
The Card Candi at the edge of the card was a white card candi and was coloured in using promarker pens to match the flowers
The sentiment was printed from the computer coloured in using distress ink and mounted onto the same cream card
The image topper was also cut from the cricut machine - Martha Stuart Elegant Cake Art
The Image was coloured in using promarker pens and flex marker pens
The bow is just a plain cream ribbon tied by hand to create the bow.
The Bottom Lace effect is self adhesive ribbon.

I am putting forward this card for a few challenges.

Valentines Card - Male

Morning All,

Hope you are all well.

Today I have for you my husbands valentines card that I made for him. I didn't want a cute bear card for him so instead I opted for a more "unique" style card.

As you can see from the card it is not the normal style of card that you would necessarily associate with valentines card.

The base of the card is a cream card that has been edged with faux stitching. The leaves have been cut from a die cut and coloured in using pro marker and spectrum noirs. The border is from a nestabilities edge die that I got with my Grand Calibur from Create and Craft. The blue section is from a nestabilities that has been cut on a textured card and then coloured using Tim Holtz distress ink pads. It has been edged in white faux stitching. The banner "Alan" has been cut from my cricut machine and matched using the same colour as the leaves, the same backing paper and the same blue as the main mat. The image is a digital stamp that I had in my library and this has been coloured using a selection of pro marker pens and spectrum noir pens, (i love how these two different pens work so well together) The sentiment is from a perfect pals stamp collection from Crafters Companion the one with a little girl holding a pink Dalmatian puppy.
To finish the card I have used two little blue gems and three pieces of card candy, blue red and white.

Here is a close up of the coloured in image, I have always struggled with shading and this last week and a bit I have done nothing but watch the four day deal on Create and Craft with the pro marker pens and watched hundreds of you tube videos and I think I have finally cracked it.

I will take some photos of the little pieces I have played with this week and get them up soon.

Thanks for reading and remember keep them fingers crossed for me for the die'sire design team.

Cards and Informations

Morning All

I have a card I am about to up load for you it was my husbands valentines card.

Anyway I have some what I believe to be brilliant cards that I will be adding soon, but due to them being family members who have access to this blog it would be unfair of me to pop them up just yet.

I am also working on a scrapbook at the moment from our holiday we had in Centre Parcs in September, I have created the cutest little squirel layout, it just needs a few finishing touches and I will get that up soon.

I have also applied for the Die'sire design team and I should hear today, I am on tender hooks just waiting for that email/phone call to come through being on a design team for an award winning company is all I have dreamed about since I started crafting back in 2006 - and by doing this if I am accepted will mean it will inspire me to keep this blog up to date more often.

Anyway must dash and I will get that valentines card up loaded in just a few ticks.

Hugs and Smiles
