Holiday Time
Just a quick note to let you know why I have been so quiet, at this moment in time I am sat in the Lake District sunning myself whilst the temperature is raising all the time at the moment we are at 22 degrees....
So I am back at the weekend, and will rush back to the card making the second my birthday celebration is over.
So for now, thanks for popping past
Hugs

Guest Designer Bah Humbug Challenge - Stockings
This card is for the Bah Humbug Challenge Blog, of which I am lucky enough to be a guest designer.
This week’s challenge was to create something using Christmas Stockings as the theme, and Boy did I have to think long and hard about it.
I come up with the following, I started by thinking about what techniques have I learnt but don’t very often use, and one of the techniques was Iris folding…. Now I will admit, I love doing Iris folding as I find it peaceful but it does take me a while to get used to the card once it is made up, this card took me nearly three full days to actually like it.
To create the card I used a free template from Circle of Crafters, of a Christmas stocking, now to try and make it slightly different I went for more contemporary colours for the card, and fell in love with the papers I used. The actual card base is a plain white A4 card folded in half to create a A5 card base. The papers were added to the base, along with a strip of purple card that was cut using a rough scalloped cutter on my guillotine. Purple organza ribbon was added to the card and a bow was tied at the end. The topper is as said a Irish folded Christmas Stocking, before I started the Irish folding aspect of the card, I ran the topper through my Cuttlebug and used a Holly Cuttlebug embossing folder. The edge of the stocking was bordered using a gold peel off and the top of the stocking was created using cotton wool that was stuck down, and then using stickles glue and my finger I glittered the cotton wool up to create a dimension to the stocking (and Christmas stockings always seem to have fluffy tops) the card has a simple greeting of “Winter Wishes” and finally to finish the card I have added four pink gems one to each corner of the stocking topper, to give it that extra bit of bling.

Floating Sheep
Hope you are all having a fantastic day, It has been reasonably sunny here today, but I just wish it was a bit warmer..
The card I have for you today is a card that I made at my local craft class last night. This card is going to be submitted into the challenge on the blog "Cards for men which has a challenge of Easter"
The card itself is a square card blank, with swirly green backing paper, the "topper" as such is two scalloped circles in green card that have been cut in half. a strip of green card that was backed onto stripy paper was attached to the two half circles using white brads. the strip was then decorated with a sparkly flower and three sparkly circles... The flower has been "jazzed" up with a circle of striped paper and green florist string. The three sheep have been created using a sizzix sheep die the head has been cut twice for each sheep and has been mounted together using foam pads to give the sheep dimension. The sheep have then been put onto acetate and the acetate has been slipped into the "circle topper" the sheep can then be moved around the card and the sheep can be adjusted to sit at different heights.
The card is a brilliant Easter card and or birthday card, and couldn't be better for a man.
Cards For Men - Challenge No. 8 Easter
The Ingredients
- White Card Stock
- Swirly Green Backing Paper
- Green Card Stock
- Glitter Card
- Google Eyes
- Green String
That's it for today, I hope you like my card and please leave any comments good or bad.

Country Cottage Birthday Card
Here is a card I have created today for my Grandad's birthday at the end of the month, To create the layout off the card I have used the I love Promarkers Challenge Blog Sketch my grandad used to cross stitch country cottages and cottages in little scenes, so when I seen this image I just knew it would be perfect for him.
The card is created using a cream a4 card blank, folded to create a A5 size. The top and bottom banners are cream card that has been distressed using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy, the topper of the card is the stamped image using Messy Rabbits cottage from Joanna Sheen, i have mounted this onto dark brown card with a texture on, and then matted this onto cream card that has again been distressed using the same distress ink as the other pieces. The wording "Happy Birthday Grandad" has been cut using my Cricut Create machine and the Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art Cartridge, using the same coloured card as the base card. The topper has been coloured in using pro marker pens and the card has been finished with embellishments I got from a scrapbook kit that I bought many moons ago, I simply popped out the centre of the circles, used the "polo" type circle at the top off the card and the centre off the circles just to the side off the topper.
I have put this card forward to the I love Promarkers Challenge Blog - as for the layout of the card I have used their sketch.

Picking Flowers
Today I have for you a lovely card I have made that fits two challenges one from Moving Along With The Times and the second challenge from the blog Anything Goes Challenge Blog.
I have created a A5 card with which I have used a sketch from Moving Along With The Times, to create the design, the backing paper was from old stock I have (I think it might have come from a magazine), the strip across the middle is thin pastel lemon, which I have tied a piece off ribbon around and then tied a bow at one end. The image in the center is on water colour card, coloured in using promarkers, and then matted onto a square that I have cut out using the Martha Stewart Elegant Cake Art cartridge. To finish off the card I have added yellow stickles flowers and in one corner I have created a swirl design. In the top two corners I have added two large pearls, and in the bottom left corner I have created a flower display using one lemon flower and two white flowers.

Sad to say and A Thank You
Well I am sad to say that I found something disturbing earlier, I have been looking around the many blogs today, and commenting where appropriate, and to my shock and horror, I come across a blog that has my card on it, the lady clearly had copied my card and published it in her blog as her own work, I cant tell you how upset I was to see this. So I decided to start putting my name on everything I now publish on my blog and on forums. However I could not work out how to do it, so I contact Bev from http://bevscrafts.blogspot.com/ who is an amazing card maker and she kindly explained to me how to do it. So I just wanted to a massive Thank You to Bev for showing me how to do it.

Guest Designer Bah Humbug Challenge Candy Cane
I have been working hard on my card for my Bah Humbug Challenge where I am a guest designer for the month of April.
This weeks challenge was to make something with candy canes. I just could not resist this little stamp, such a cutie pie, and holding his candy cane as tight as he can.
The card is made using Green card base, the backing paper is pr
inted from Joanna Sheen House Mouse Inserts CD Rom, as is the insert that I have custom made with my own verse. The image is also from Joanna Sheen and is from her range of House Mouse unmounted Christmas range. Which have being coloured in using Promarkers. The borders at the top and bottom of the page are from my new Cricut cartridge from Martha Stewart which is just adorable. The flowers again at the top and bottom are cut from my Cricut and I have hand made them into roses, the leaves to are from the machine and the swirls are made from funky foam, that I have twisted around a pencil, and heated up slightly to create a tight curl that stays put. The "Merry Christmas" is from stock that I am using up, but again I believe it was cut from the Cricut machine.
