House Mouse Candy Cane

This is another card using the house mouse christmas stamp again with the little hamster and his candy cane, instead of making the candy cane the usual red, green colours i have gone for a gold theme on this card, coloured the images in using pro markers, but toned them down, the mice have been coloured a grey colour and the hamster a ginger type colour (pen used was coral i believe) the candy cane was then coloured white and gold. the image has been edged with gold border peel offs then matted onto a piece of the same cream card as the base card, this mat was then edged with the gold pen touch pen, and mounted using 3d foam pads, on a "wonky" angle to the card base. The sentiment at the bottom is printed onto white paper, then cut using a wave cut, edged with gold pen touch pen, matted onot cream card again edged with gold pen touch pen, and put straight onto the card base. The sentiment reads "way up high on the christmas tree 2 little candy canes winked at me, so i shook that three as hard as i could and down come the candy came hmm hmm good."

Merry Christmas" has been created by me, and printed out onto white card that has been distressed using a tim holtz ink pad. A ivory bow has been added to the corner of the card.

House Mouse Cookie

This is another off the House Mouse stamp range that is unmounted and brought to us by Joanna Sheen, The image has been stamped and water coloured in using lyra water colours and pro marker pens, the backing paper is off Joanna Sheen Vintage Christmas, and consists off cookies and such like, again where the backing paper meets the card blank a gold border peel off has been placed along it, the topper has been "ran" around with a gold pen touch pen, and mounted onto the card blank using foam pads, and a ivory bow has been added to the corner of the card.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there" to finish the card off a small red bow has been added to finish it off.

I have mounted this onto a square gold pearl card, which has been embossed using a Crafts Too, spot embossing folder run through the Cuttlebug, a piece of ribbon fastened around it and a "bow" created then this was mounted onto a 6x6 card stock in white.

Holiday Craft Shops

Hello All,

Well just got back from Holiday from Devon and visited a few craft shops so wanted to share my thoughts off them with you, then if ever anyone goes to Devon they have a few shops to see them through.

Crafty Devils- Barnstaple-- This is a large shop and stock a range of products including do crafts and Tim Holtz, upstairs they are also a large stockist of Sizzix and a few Cuttlebug folders- I was however disappointed to see that some of the large names were not stocked, considering they class themselves as the largest in the area. www.crafty-devils.co.uk

Just Traceys - Plymouth - Well considering when we went this shop had only been open for four months it was well stocked, what i really liked was that it had some of the big name companies in and also some up and coming companies, with some lovely stamps from various suppliers (un heard of at the moment ) and she had a large selection on Crafts Too embossing folders - Tracey was a lovely person who was eager to help and advise and she told me that she has a website under construction and they will be offering free p and p -www.justtraceys.co.uk

The Craft Corner - Penzance - Spread over two shops, Karen could not have been any more helpful then what she was and I was very pleased to see that she stocked some of the big names Joanna Sheen, Crafters Companion, Cuttlebug, Tim Hotlz, Flower Soft, Do Crafts and then she had a lovely selection of again unfamiliar suppliers. www.thecraftycorneronline.co.uk

Creations - Helston - Porthleven- This was a little find, she was full to the rafters with craft items for card making and scrapbooking, wool, buttons, and a large artisit selection at the back of the store, I couldn't honestly say what this shop stocked as she had small amounts of everything - One thing i did see that out off all the shops I went in to this one stocked Clarity Stamps - The shop had a sale section were certain items had been reduced a lot and others had a little bit off, a lovely little find --www.ecreations.co.uk

The Craft Room - Newton Abbott - This lady was again jam packed with all different manufactures of items, she had small amounts of most people in except Joanna Sheen, the shop was lovely and she offered lots of craft classes/demo days... www.craftroomonline.co.uk

Finishing Touches - Totnes - This lady was very helpful both on the phone and in the store, she was at the time with a sales rep but was more then happy to help out and answer any questions, again it was a large shop and stocked a variety of stockist, however the main names of Clarity, Do Crafts, Joanna Sheen, Crafters Companion were missing - www.decocraft.co.uk

Well I hope this has helped someone out for future visits to the south of the country, this is something that I am going to continue with, every time I come across a craft shop then I will add there details to my blog, with feedback on how I found the shop and were possible I will mention what is stocked in the shop.

Take care and Keep Safe

Proud New Owner

Hello Everyone,

Well I am pleased to say that I am now a proud owner of a cricut create, I only got it on Saturday and already in love with it, it is amazing, so quick, and easy to use... This is the story of it.

I first wanted the cricut machine about 2 years ago, when my local craft shop had a demo day off different machines that she stocked, including the cricut, craft robo, cuttlebug, bigshot. I went with the intention of buying the Cricut that day, but was talked out of it and convinced the Craft Robo was the way to go... Well I got the software thousands of cuts etc and just could not get away with it, my mum bought it off me but she still had the same problems that I, and due to the both stated that we would not get another machine like it... We both still tho admired the machine, but thought that it was a lot of money and were worried it would be the same trouble that the robo was... Then along come create and craft with it on offer, and a very lucky mum who ordered the machine. Since seeing my mum's machine I had to have one... After 2 weeks of searching for a deal I decided to just hang on and keep my money until one that i really fancied come along (couldnt afford the create and craft offer) then on my grandads birthday the day before mine, I found my perfect machine, and was extremly lucky to be able to go and pick the machine up on saturday, and what a lovely lady I met who clearly had looked after her machine and cartridges, due to family and friends coming yesterday, today was the only chance I really had to play, and wow! I will post some pieces up once I construct some cards and scrapbook page's... my mind is over flowing with ideas...

Scrapbook Pages

These are four pages from the scrapbook I made for Alan. I must admit that I do like these for specially. This is my first scrapbook that I have done and must admit that I now want to do another one.

Boozy Badger

Using Joanna Sheen Messy Rabbit collection, I have took an image from her "Boring Badger" collection, and printed it several times, I have then decoupaged up the image. For the bear head I have used the Paint "Fluffy Stuff" heated it up to create a textured feeling to the card. The pint of lemonade has got clear sakura pen on the bubbles, for the badgers eyes I have put on two little moving eyes. The backing paper is also printed from the CD and cut using a cutter with a jaggered edge cut. This was then layered onto a dark blue base card. For the sentiment I have used a free sentiment square that I got when I first started crafting (think it come with a magazine) and stuck this on a nestability cut image, with pin flair glue gel.

Popcorn Bear, Birthday

Here is a birthday card for Alans Aunt, this is a crafters companion popcorn bear brithday stamp, along with co-ordinating papers from there CD roms. The images have been coloured in using a combination of pro markers, cosmic shimmers and lyra aquacolours, and the greetings are sprayed with cosmic shimmer mists.

Hoot of a Time

This is the birthday card I have decided to do for my Grandads birthday. Taken form the original Jayne Netley Meyhew collection, is this beautiful owl. I have printed the owl on to smooth card, matted and layered him onto brown and cream card. Both of the backing papers, have been printed from the same CD, the first is off the owl repeated, and second is a further from the owl repeated. All the matting and layering has been finished with gold peel offs, and in insert has been created using the same owl image, with a verse from my birthday collection. For the greeting at the bottom, I have used a linked Happy Birthday Peel off and placed onto cream card, that has had Tim Holtz distress ink rubbed along the edges, (quiet hard to see on the pic)... Hope you like and you get inspiration from the card.

Quick Up Date

Sorry I have not been on for a while...

Whilst I have been away, I have got myself a set of Nestabilites, and must admit that I do love them, but would be hard pressed to buy any more, purely because the set I bought meets my needs for the time been..... Maybe I should re-view this in a years time and see how many sets I have then----

As well as this I have been doing a lot of research into the Cricut Create machine, all thanks to my mum, I have had my eye on one for a while, but after the incident with the Craft Robo, I was really put off, any way my dear mum, ordered one from the famouse online craft channel, and I was so lucky to be at her house when it turned up, and I think I can safely say that we both fell in love with it straight away... I have now decided to have a clear out and treat myself out of my birthday money... So the search began.. Must say that there are some bargains out there to be had, but you have to be careful off what you look at as some people describe things wrong and are in fact selling the older machine.
As well as this, the same very day the machine turned up at my mums, I broke my foot that night.... 4 weeks with a very nice pink pot on... Role on the 19th May when it finally comes off.

Off out on Friday night with the family for a meal, as it is my birthday and can not wait.

Sorry I have not done a lot of crafting lately, I will try and get some posts up off the cards I have done soon.

Take care keep safe

Beaching It

Hello All,

A quick tip for you all to remember.

Whilst I was doing some card making back in January for my dad's birthday I accidently picked up the wrong pro marker, I thought I had picked up the light blue but had actually picked up the dark blue pro marker. I thought that was it, I would have to re-make my card. I then remembered something about using bleach to create sheep. So outcome the house hold bleach and put it into a small container with a thin paint brush, and went over the dark blue, using the paint brush along with a piece of kitchen paper, I picked up the colour of the dark blue, creating a light blue colour and hay pesto the card was fixed.

Another tip with bleach, try it with different colours, black creates a pink colour whilst dark brown creates a orange rustic colour.... go on have a try and see what results you can get.
(Please note that whilst using bleach all care should be put into not getting any on to your clothes, or skin, as damage to clothes may happen and skin irriation may occur, please read instruction of use on the bottle)
